I picked all these fish up at the MCA Iowa auction in January. Theyre julidochromis marlieri? (Katoto?) (6) and lamprologus stappersii (7). I have 2 18" fleurescants, one actinic and one daylight. i bought the daylight today and they got real skiddish... the sand looks pretty blasted with white. Is this lighting too strong? Should they get used to it eventually? I dont want to wash out their color

Thats all for now... need to get a background and some more rockwork for the center.
Sorry that the photos are so bad, I'll check an SLR some day and get closer shots of the better colored fish. 2 shellie pairings so far.

why the water level so low? The light does not look to bad, but some rock work and shells will help...

IME, fish can adapt to light and behavior will revert to same behavior as if light were low level light.

Fish color may change with intense light and this does not adapt to intense light. I think some fish appear to have colors washed out or subtle colors are lost under intense light. This is what is lost.
