Nice Gary!!!!!

06-03-2007, 10:21 AM
So having never attended a swap before, I have a question.

I have a neighbor who wants to bring some of her africans. How's it set up? Should she just bring them in a bag? How's that usually work?

06-03-2007, 10:24 AM
Yep, get them bagged up. There are tables available to use for selling items. $10 each table or it can be split with someone for $5 each

06-03-2007, 10:15 PM
Is anybody bringing any plants? I got a buddy who was looking for some. He was planning on stopping by the swap. I'll bring some hygro, vals, java moss, wisteria but all that is pretty common.

06-03-2007, 10:16 PM
I know ARB is and I thought Ike said he had some also

06-03-2007, 10:18 PM
Cool, thanks Mike,
got some nice crappie tonight over at Walnut Creek. Took Mary and Lisa out.

06-03-2007, 10:20 PM
Awesome. I'd love to go sometime. It's been a long time since I've had any crappie. It's 1 of my favorite tasting fish

06-03-2007, 10:23 PM
We kept enough for a meal and released about a dozen or so. They've got to be 10 inches to keep there. Sunfish have got to be 8 and bass 21. We caught a couple dozen gillies in the 6-7 range and one baby bass along with the couple dozen crappie.

06-03-2007, 10:26 PM
cool sounds like fun!!

06-04-2007, 12:04 AM
Man mpp, those are pretty high limits on fish. Either that or I just haven't been fishing anywhere new in too long!!
I'm used to 9" for crappie, 15 for bass, and all the sunfish/bluegill you can handle.

I second mbovinet's opinion on crappie. It is a toss-up for me between walleye and crappie for my favorite fish.

I can't wait to do a little fishing this summer!

06-04-2007, 09:05 AM
We have a little pond right outside of town on one of my buddy's places. We go out there pretty often and before the big rains recently, we were pulling 12-14" crappie out....BIG BOYS! Didn't keep all of them cause we need some to catch later, but 6 or 7 would make an excellent plate for dinner! Some big bass in there too, we caught close to 1/2 dozen 2lbs or bigger! One of them went 4.5lbs and 26" WOW.

Tim :D

06-04-2007, 10:10 AM
I think I want to move to Redfield! Those are some nice crappies. We kept 8 out of all the ones we caught but none were 14 inches. That would have been a lot of fun on the ultralights we use.

06-04-2007, 01:03 PM
That does sound good, those are some big crappie!! I going to try to get in some big bass here in a week or two. There's nothing better than fishing top water for big bass!

06-04-2007, 03:18 PM
No doubt...sunrise or sunset on a still day...lake's like glass....got your topwater skimming the surface & BLAM!

No matter how many times I've been fishing - still scares the hell out of me. Fun stuff.

06-04-2007, 06:17 PM
Alright looks like I shall be making an appearance and I'll be there for about an hour. I'm not bringing anything but cash. :)

06-04-2007, 07:57 PM
We do like cash!!!!! See you there

06-04-2007, 09:21 PM
i like cash a lot, now if only i could get my cash to spawn!
