If cich doesn't have anything to sell, I would split a table with ya. Just let me know....otherwise I'm sure I can split one with someone else.

So having never attended a swap before, I have a question.

I have a neighbor who wants to bring some of her africans. How's it set up? Should she just bring them in a bag? How's that usually work?

Thanks.

mbovinet
06-03-2007, 10:24 AM
Yep, get them bagged up. There are tables available to use for selling items. $10 each table or it can be split with someone for $5 each

Is anybody bringing any plants? I got a buddy who was looking for some. He was planning on stopping by the swap. I'll bring some hygro, vals, java moss, wisteria but all that is pretty common.

Cool, thanks Mike,

Awesome. I'd love to go sometime. It's been a long time since I've had any crappie. It's 1 of my favorite tasting fish

mpp

We kept enough for a meal and released about a dozen or so. They've got to be 10 inches to keep there. Sunfish have got to be 8 and bass 21. We caught a couple dozen gillies in the 6-7 range and one baby bass along with the couple dozen crappie.

Man mpp, those are pretty high limits on fish. Either that or I just haven't been fishing anywhere new in too long!!
I'm used to 9" for crappie, 15 for bass, and all the sunfish/bluegill you can handle.

I second mbovinet's opinion on crappie. It is a toss-up for me between walleye and crappie for my favorite fish.

I can't wait to do a little fishing this summer!

We have a little pond right outside of town on one of my buddy's places. We go out there pretty often and before the big rains recently, we were pulling 12-14" crappie out....BIG BOYS! Didn't keep all of them cause we need some to catch later, but 6 or 7 would make an excellent plate for dinner! Some big bass in there too, we caught close to 1/2 dozen 2lbs or bigger! One of them went 4.5lbs and 26" WOW.

I think I want to move to Redfield! Those are some nice crappies. We kept 8 out of all the ones we caught but none were 14 inches. That would have been a lot of fun on the ultralights we use.

That does sound good, those are some big crappie!! I going to try to get in some big bass here in a week or two. There's nothing better than fishing top water for big bass!

No doubt...sunrise or sunset on a still day...lake's like glass....got your topwater skimming the surface & BLAM!

No matter how many times I've been fishing - still scares the hell out of me. Fun stuff.
