It is really nice. I just noticed on the tank that you don't have a bottom brace. Are you worried that it might be to much pressure and the seams might split. I really like the tank and the bar. Nice work. I know there are differences in opinions on bracing a tank and there are alot of people that know more about this than I do. this is just something i was wondering for myself. I have passed on lots of tanks that didn't have that bottom piece and maybe I should have bought them. Oh and Welcome to the MCA from Wisconsin.

The "bottom brace" is nothing more then a beauty trim ring for looks. The top trim ring doesn't need to be there either but if you don't have it you will need to have some other cross braces running from front to back if the tank is longer then 3ft.

Also the top trim ring is nice to have as it gives a place for the glass lids.

sence you doing a great job so far why not upgrade to a fx5 canister or add another 405 your filtering would be great and less work too, just a thought !

Thanks for all the responses. I'm not that concerned about the bottom brace. With it being in the wall I have lots of options there since it will be hidden. I am looking to get an fx5 actually. I have the 404,1200 cascade,400 emperer, and a walmart cheapy on it right now but it looks terrible and that stuff is just temporary.

No progress today i'm still trying to decide on a top for the bar. Granite,Marble, wood? I just can't decide.

Butcher block might look really cool for a bar top. Just a thought.

What's the dimensions of a 180 footprint? Really want a LARGER Tank than my 150, but want a shorter tank.

NICE! Craig's list is a beautiful thing. Wish I could have found a 180 for that price. It all looks great man! Excited to see it finished. Welcome indeed!
