Watching them spawn with a camera? Kind of like making fish porn.

When you say rain:

Are these fish outdoors and experiencing rain? or are you simulating the environment to start the process?

Do you have any photo's of you setup I could see? I have a feeling, I could get a few ideas by looking at them :D

It's just the drop in atmospheric pressure that accompanies a rainstorm. No way jason had these outside in here in mn yet.

Perform a big water change right before the next storm rolls into your area and watch your fish get all horny.

I always change my water the day before precip. It gives me extra motivation compared to just changing the water any old day. This summer the rain is going to be directly on my outdoor pool I'm interested to see what this does
