  EXPO 2007 AUCTION

Auction Rules

  1. Membership in the MCA is not required to Buy or Sell items in the Auction.
  2. 6 bags per species maximum
  3. 60 bags per family maximum
  4. Proper bagging of fish is required. It is strongly recommended that all fish be double bagged. Adult males and females should be bagged separately and taped together or placed in a third bag. No Baggies or similar quality bags will be accepted. If such fish are found they will not be auctioned.
  5. Bags can be labeled with labels or permanent marker
  6. Bags should be labeled with the Seller's #, Name, Phone #, Quanity of Items, & Description of Item.
  7. The Seller's Registration Form can be downloaded in either an MS Word or in a PDF Version
  8. Seller's Labels can be downloaded & printed using Avery 5161 or 8251 Labels here PDF Version or MS Word
  9. No sick or deformed fish will be accepted. If such fish are found they will not be auctioned.
  10. All sales are final. BUYERS BEWARE.
  11. The ten table method will be used to conduct the auction. All item numbers ending in a 1 will be placed on table 1. Items numbers endning in a two will be placed on table 2, etc. The auction will begin with a table randomly drawn and proceed in a random order through all of the tables.
  12. No items may be removed from the auction once it has been registered.
  13. Minimum bids: You may place a minimum bid on up to 5 bags of fish.  If the item doesn't bring the minimum bid, it will be set aside and put up for auction at a later time.  This will only be done twice.  If the fish doesn't sell, a charge of $5 will be made to the seller for the time taken to try to sell the fish and the Seller must be present at the end of the auction or pre-arrange with the auction chairperson for the disposition of the fish. Otherwise, the fish will become property of MCA.
  14. The auction split is as follows: MCA will retain 30% with the remaining 70% going to the Seller.
  15. Priority Items: For a $3 fee, any registered buyer or seller may bring any item up for immediate sale at any time during the auction. For sellers, this is a great way to ensure that rare fish can be auctioned during the peak period of the event.
  16. Any unclaimed items at the end of the auction will become property of the MCA .
  17. CASH is strongly encouraged.
  18. Buyers must register with the registration committee at the beginning of the auction & submit a Drivers License or Credit Card to be held until all items are paid for.
  19. All similar items may be sold at the last bid according to the discretion of the auctioneer, with the buyer having first choice, and other bidders having subsequent choices.
  20. This is a Cichlid, Scavenger, and aquatic plant auction only. NO DRY GOODS WILL BE AUCTIONED .
  21. Neither the MCA or the Quality Inn & Suites Event Center will be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury incurred before, during, or after the auction.
