  MCA AUCTION RULES

Auction Rules

  1. Membership in the MCA is not required to Buy or Sell items in the Auction.
  2. You may sell fish, live and plastic plants, and aquarium related equipment and dry goods... All equipment sold must be in working order or marked otherwise.
  3. 6 bags per species maximum
  4. 60 items/bags per family maximum
  5. Proper bagging of fish is required. It is strongly recommended that all fish be double bagged. Adult males and females should be bagged separately and taped together or placed in a third bag. No Baggies or similar quality bags will be accepted. If such fish are found they will not be auctioned.
  6. Bags can be labeled with labels or permanent marker
  7. Bags should be labeled with the Seller's #, Name, Phone #, Quanity of Items, & Description of Item
  8. The Seller's Registration Form can be downloaded in either an MS Word or in a PDF Version
  9. Seller's Labels can be downloaded & printed using Avery 5161 or 8251 Labels here PDF Version or MS Word
  10. No sick or deformed fish will be accepted. If such fish are found they will not be auctioned.
  11. All sales are final. BUYERS BEWARE.
  12. The ten table method will be used to conduct the auction. All item numbers begining in a 1 will be placed on table 1. Items numbers beginning in a two will be placed on table 2, etc. The auction will begin with a table randomly drawn and proceed in a random order through all of the tables.
  13. No items may be removed from the auction once it has been registered.
  14. The auction split is as follows: MCA will retain the first $1.00 of the sale plus 25% of the price exceeding the first $1.00. All sales of $1.00 or less will be considered a donation to the MCA
  15. Priority Items: For a $2 fee, any registered buyer or seller may bring any item up for immediate sale at any time during the auction. For sellers, this is a great way to ensure that rare fish can be auctioned during the peak period of the event.
  16. Any unclaimed items at the end of the auction will become property of the MCA .
  17. CASH is strongly encouraged.
  18. Buyers must register with the registration committee at the beginning of the auction & submit a Drivers License to be held until all items are paid for.
  19. All similar items may be sold at the last bid according to the discretion of the auctioneer, with the buyer having first choice, and other bidders having subsequent choices.
  20. Neither the MCA or the Best Western DSM North will be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury incurred before, during, or after the auction.
