YEah the black ones are the females. I knew they were pseudotropheus but female demasoni are blue as well, not the brownish black. I watched about four or five groups of them spawning if the babies...

I have never kept fish in it. It is clean and has never had anything in it. It has been triple rinsed and I would have no problem drinking water from it.
I wanted to use it for R.O. water...
Water is the only thing that has been in the tank since it was new? If not, have you kept fish in it without issue?
Thanks for everyone's help. Bought a used 110 x high this weekend.
i think it would be fine to add some ottos or cories. ottos work great on algae.
